ATO PRESIDENT BARAN MEETS ONLINE WITH MOLDOVA AMBASSADOR H.E. DMITRI CROITOR

-ATO PRESIDENT BARAN: "WE WANT TO INCREASE OUR TRADE WITH MOLDOVA TO 1 BILLION $"

-AMBASSADOR OF MOLDOVA CROITOR INVITED TURKISH BUSINESSMEN TO TRADE AND INVEST IN MOLDOVA.

June 23 th, 2020-  Ankara Chamber of Commerce (ATO) President Mr. Gürsel Baran, said "We are carrying out efforts to improve our trade with Moldova we up to $1 billion as per targets set by President Recep Tayyip Erdogan"


ATO President Mr. Gürsel Baran met with Moldova Ambassador H.E. Dmitri Croitor via video conference stating that the official relations between the two countries gained momentum with the official visit of President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan to Moldova in 2018.


Ambassador Croitor provided information about Moldova and he invited members of Ankara Chamber of Commerce to trade and invest in Moldova. Ambassador Croitor said that Moldova, located in the middle of Europe, is a small country, however those who invest in this country can reach a population of 800 million together with the countries in the region. Ambassador Croitor also stated that "Moldova's potential is huge, Turkey's potential is even greater. Moldova is the most suitable country to invest in for Turkish businessmen. We invite you therefore to invest in following trade relations." The Ambassador said he would be happy to host the ATO delegation in their country after the coronavirus outbreak ends.


ATO President Baran stated that he is very pleased with the Ambassador's offer for a business delegation visit and said that he agrees to improve their commercial relations with Moldova as ATO. Mr. Baran added a free trade agreement had been signed during President Recep Tayyip Erdogan's visit to Moldova which would contribute immensely to the target of increased trade volume between Turkey and Moldova.  "We should improve the current trade volume of 600 million USD with Moldova to 1 billion dollars. The better we are in trade, the more we will be strong in politics together" said Mr. Baran.


Giving information about the economy of Ankara, Baran said that the service sector predominates in Ankara's gross national product, but industrial production also has an important place. Turkey's export figures reminiscent of that 1.5 dollars per kilogram Mr. Baran added. This figure rises to $ 2.5 for Ankara, Mr. Baran continued. Mr. Baran also gave information about Ankara's economic potential, especially in health tourism stating that they can organize a visit to Moldova by evaluating the Ambassador's invitation after the COVID-19 pandemic. Baran said, "As Ankara Chamber of Commerce, we are always with you to improve the commercial relations between our countries."
